stardust

new moon sky
filled with
starry delight
cracks in heaven's floor
stardust
falls upon the shore
of nighttime's
winter dreams
moving slowly
in between
midnight thoughts
& slumbering nods
darkness holds
a long reign
with trails of stardust
in its wake
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
one single impression
I'll take the midnight thoughts and the winter dreams. I need some of each. The slumbering nods are holding those two back.
I could never have come up with these although they are common notions.
I'm awed by the image of heaven's floor. I just never thought of it that way before. Isn't poetry wonderful?
Your poem starts with inky blackness and suddenly the light appears-- very nice.
