That sure does take courage. I feel for you in your grief. "I miss you, daddy" stole my heart.

What an open-hearted poem - that's courage!

evocative -- "this day" -- suggests several things, a recent loss, the anniversary of a loss, or just simply the daily struggle for live following a major loss.

So few words, but so poignant. A tribute in itself.

This is a tough one for me to read but you inspire with your courage. Putting one's feet on the floor .... and taking a step. Thank you and peace to you and yours.

My Condolences.
Dealing with the loss of a loved certainly takes courage, and you shouldn't have to do it alone...know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Facing loss is surely an act of courage. This one brings tears - I know the sorrow.

Ms. di Bello, this one is most touching. Mrs. Jim's father died when she was seven, he was also 'Daddy' to her. Every year now (almost 60) she has memories both the of the day of his death and then his birthday.
One expects elderly parents to die, our other three have within the last ten years. But those memories have fulfillment where the younger loss never does.

Your poem would also have similar meaning to a younger mother whose husband has died or left. I'm sure you had one of these in mind. May God bless you, and the children if it was a spouse.

Thank you for your encouragemnet, my sister still remembers those times. I send her cartoons when I find them of the monster under the bed. That will be a future letter to Dr. Jim (when I'm in the mood).
I tend to write what I know or fantasize about. I think you do also.
