a winter's day

late dawn peeking
a pink layer
across wind chill...
snuggle deeper
under down
comfort.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a fire building
in the hearth
& heart
with steaming mug
in hand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
early twilight leaving
a wake of starry sky
candles lit
& vespers sung
a winter's day
is done.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
one single impression
That warmed me through and through. I love it. I spent the earliest part of this morning under the covers with a warm mug and ears attuned to the winter wind. Your poem nails that moment!
Dear qualcosa-
I could swear I left a comment this am, but maybe not--at any rate...I really loved the feeling tone of these poems...and the enjoyment of the winter with its snuggliness, color on white, and the starry night.
Love the passion these evoke!
Lovely. That fire and mug sure sound good to me at the moment. Not as cold as some places but we are headed to 8 degrees right now. The last is lovely also. I love Vespers. I used to lead it at my church years ago and it was one of my favorite things ever.
