through a window

through a dusty pane
outward glimpse of light & hope
forget the dishescozed lamplight billows
piercing the darkened street with
internal yearning

Through the window we go deep inside ourselves. These are lovely haiku and beautiful images.

I really like the first one-- giving up the mundane for hope!

Excellent reminders! We must never trip over our life so much that we don't live it fully!

Simply beautiful haiku and image!

Your Italian nickname had already aroused my curiosity, and when I read your witty comment on Sandy Carson's blog, - regarding the window shutter to camera shutter connotation -, I had to come hear at full speed. I am glad I did! ;-)

Looking out these windows would be a two-fold treat; the view and the beauty of the window itself! Very nice windows.

I really like the second one (perfect picture to go with it too).

These are both beautiful. I'm partial to the "forget the dishes" sentiment. Lovely images and poems both, though.

The last line of the first one is amazing.

The yearning for close fellowship and companionship is what I get from your second poem. :)

I say amen to the first one and I just love the image conjured in my mind by the second one.

dirty dishes, dusty windows... i like the hope and dreams shining thru... the warmth of the second photo is awesome and works well with the darkened street...

There is always time for the dishes. There isn't always time to enjoy the view. I enjoyed your first one quite a bit!

Wonderful philosophical words! The perfect image to go with them.
