fading memories

i came by this way
only yesterday
i was but a girl
what stretched
out before
has come & gonelost in thought
i turned today
to catch a glimpse
of myself
in your lens
of fading memories

one single impression

Hi Queen B, this is a nice set of verses. Your profile shows N.C. but those bikes look Italian?
I have some similar pictures but my ladies are a lot, lot younger (late teens, twenties, and thirties).
You have hit upon life very nicely, that is the way it goes. Thanks for the reminder.
..
My cruise blogging will mostly be on JIM'S LITTLE BLOG but I now have a link on the Photo and Poem place, thanks to your inquiry. I will update the link when there is another, etc.

Now this is too sweet .. did the thoughts create the photos, or did the photos inspire the thoughts --- either way this is a real sweet poem and I so enjoyed the depth.

A beautiful poem. I particularly like the lines:
"catch a glimpse of myself
in your lens
of fading memories"
Others often can provide the prompt to revive faded memories!

Perfectly nostalgic, and telling the story of the photos was wonderful.

I really like the poem and the surprise of the photo of the woman turning and looking at the camera is great.

hi beauty--j
so true, so true. and it seems to be in pictures or mirrors that those moments of truth catch up with us. Sometimes getting out of bed, I kinda hitch along like I remember my dad doing. It makes me smile and wince a little at the same time...
Thanks for these lovely remembrances of the fleetingness of it all--

I like the idea of seeing things through other people especially memories, things that only that person could remember but you put it quite beautifully

I have done this and felt the warmth of acceptance and love. How time flies, yet our feelings can remain steadfast.

I enjoyed this very much.

I missed stopping by this blog.

Tu eres muy bonita. :D

Perhaps not in your tongue, but a compliment regardless. Take it how you will.

Time really does seem to fly by pretty quick, and our perception of those momentswith it.
Nice verses.

Oh, I just love this! Well done! I love how you caught her turning backwards. Isn't it odd how our mind's eye sees us as forever young, yet the mirror continues to lie to our face?
